Temporary Construction Building
Laing O’Rourke / Everton FC Stadium – Warehousing & Storage – Support Infrastructure
Everton Football Club’s new stadium, set to be located on Liverpool’s iconic waterfront, is poised to be a key driver in the regeneration of North Liverpool. To ensure that the ambitious £555 million project stays on track and is delivered on time for the 2024/25 football season, Laing O’Rourke required an efficient, temporary solution to increase their storage and warehousing capabilities. Spaciotempo provided the perfect answer with a versatile, secure, and weather-resistant temporary building to aid in the continuation of the construction process.

The Requirement
Laing O’Rourke needed to increase their storage and warehousing capabilities for the construction of Everton Football Stadium. This required a partnership with a supplier who could offer both the space and functionality needed to ensure the project progressed smoothly. A temporary building solution was essential, one that would not only accommodate the increased storage demands but also complement the overall timeline and security requirements of the stadium build.
The solution
Spaciotempo provided a 10m x 30m x 4m temporary warehouse building with 300m² of space, which perfectly suited Laing O’Rourke’s needs. Positioned by the River Mersey, this facility was not only capable of meeting storage requirements but also demonstrated the versatility of Spaciotempo's temporary buildings, acting as a vital construction hub to support the stadium’s build.
(01)
Flood Protection & Pest Prevention

With the temporary warehouse located near the waterfront, water and flooding posed a significant risk. To address this, Spaciotempo employed innovative Z-shape plates that were installed at the base of the building's cladding panels. These plates, sealed with Tec 7 Sealant, ensured the building was watertight and protected against flooding and unwanted vermin. This added layer of protection was crucial for safeguarding the contents and maintaining operational efficiency.

(02)
Climate Control & Worker Protection
To withstand the cold weather conditions that can affect construction in the Northwest of England, Spaciotempo installed thermo roofing on the temporary building. This feature not only offered protection for the construction workers but also improved the building’s energy efficiency, regulating the internal temperature. The thermo roofing ensured the facility remained functional throughout the colder months, supporting the overall project’s continuity through challenging weather conditions.

Conclusion
Spaciotempo’s temporary storage solution has played a key role in enabling Laing O’Rourke to continue their work on Everton’s new stadium without delays. With added features to protect against flooding, pests, and cold weather, the building ensures that storage requirements are met and that the project can continue smoothly toward its 2024/25 season completion.

This space represents a 60% increase in our space capacity, it’s given us the clear span, which has allowed us to take benefit of the wider modules that we produce...The clear span is fantastic for us. We can flow between the two bays and the ability to implement the flow line through the speed set doors and the roller shutter doors is fantastic."
