Sustainable temporary buildings, sustainable business practices.
Spaciotempo is part of the GL events UK group, which employs its own Sustainability Specialist to guide the business toward its two-step decarbonisation targets.
With 2024 as the baseline year, firstly we aim to reduce carbon emissions by 50% by 2030 as our mid-term goal, and then become net zero by 2050, without the need to offset reductions elsewhere.

We’ve already made great progress to get our business ready for the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive mandate, coming into effect this year, where we are required to report on our carbon emissions on an annual basis.
We’re equally committed to transparency and accountability too and will make our 2025 figure publicly available when published.

Sustainable materials
The aluminium frames we use on our temporary buildings and industrial canopies have countless lifecycles, without losing their intrinsic qualities. In fact, every single component used in the construction of our buildings, except the fixing bolt, is 100% reusable for the next customer.
Our buildings are manufactured to last, with a lifespan of 25+ years, and can be extended, dismantled, or completely relocated with far greater ease than permanent buildings, offering true versatility.

Ethical construction
There are even many advantages in the construction method itself, as quicker build times equals reduced waste, fewer resources, and lower costs. In the long-term, this equals better energy efficiency, and a more sustainable approach.
Temporary buildings reduce energy consumption, which is great for the environment, whilst also helping to save our clients’ money in the long run too.

Vehicle fleet
Through ourselves and our partners, Spaciotempo already employ efficient models of trucks for business-related transportation movements, actively seeking out those who conform to the highest European standards (euro 6).
Furthermore, by April 2025 there will only be electric vehicles or hybrid electric vehicles within our car fleet, which is vitally important to us as our commercial team transverse the UK & Ireland.

Digital carbon footprint
Spaciotempo partnered with Abstrakt, a Certified B Corp web agency, to deliver our new website. A carbon-conscious agency, Abstrakt drives business-wide change toward net zero, promoting a greener web through best practices, advocacy, and action.
With their help, we’ve already taken great strides in reducing our carbon footprint in the digital space by compressing, optimising and streamlining user journeys. But we're not stopping there, as our target is to take our carbon emissions rating from an F to an E on the Website Carbon Calculator.
Other sustainable endeavours

Zero waste, maximum impact
Less than 1% of waste generated within operations is sent to landfill.
By implementing rigorous waste segregation practices and partnering with accredited recycling facilities we actively reduce landfill dependency and contribute to a more circular economy.

LED Lighting as standard
LED lights are installed at all GL events sites, supporting sustainability by providing energy-efficient, long-lasting illumination.
With a 5-year warranty as standard, these LED fittings not only reduce energy consumption and maintenance costs but also ensure durable, high-quality lighting specific for industrial spaces.

Corporate social responsibility
Spaciotempo is actively involved in group CSR projects and volunteering within local communities, helping to enrich the areas in which we live and work. We also support the work of local charities outside of the office, offering employees the opportunity to give something back.

Environmentally conscious suppliers
We are engaging all suppliers in early 2025 asking them for information, policies and practices with regards to sustainability and giving them a rank to ensure their standards match ours.
By sending all group suppliers a Supply Chain Sustainability Assessment, we can ensure we only move forward with partners who conform to our standard.

Promoting from within
We have Sustainability Champions situated at each GL events site, including Spaciotempo HQ, to help promote the importance of sustainable business practices through internal marketing channels.
