Expanding Learning Opportunities: NSCG Newcastle College’s New Semi-Permanent Workshop
With student enrollment in construction and brickwork courses at an all-time high, NSCG Newcastle College faced a pressing need for additional workshop space. In response, Spaciotempo delivered a high-quality, semi-permanent workshop in just three days—ready for the start of term despite a last-minute project approval.
Requirements
Located in Staffordshire, NSCG Newcastle College required extra space to accommodate its growing student numbers. Their existing workshop facilities were no longer sufficient, and with a surge in demand for construction and brickwork courses, a quick solution was essential.
The college needed a structure that could fit within the limited space of the campus while providing a functional and flexible learning environment. The installation had to be completed during the summer break to avoid disruption and be ready for the new term in September.
The solution
Spaciotempo designed, fabricated, and installed a brand-new 75sqm semi-permanent workshop (5m x 15m x 3m) in just three days. Despite the project being approved at the last minute, the team worked efficiently to ensure it was completed on time. Positioned within the perimeter of an existing fence and next to the college’s current facilities, the installation made optimal use of the available space without disrupting campus operations.

In the short term, the new structure will serve as an additional workshop for construction and brickwork students, providing them with a dedicated area to develop their practical skills. Looking ahead, the building will transition into a storage unit when lessons move to another part of the campus, ensuring it remains a valuable asset for the college.
