Assisting in an ambitious refurbishment of Longacres Nursery in the heart of Surrey.
Spaciotempo provided the retailer with a temporary garden centre for the duration of the renovations. To enable Longacres to provide a continuous service to customers during the works, we supplied two gutter-linked temporary buildings providing a total area of 1650sqm.
Requirement
When Longacres Nursery in Bagshot, Surrey, took on an ambitious refurbishment, we provided them with a temporary garden centre for the duration of the renovations.
The independent, privately owned nursery has been serving gardening enthusiasts throughout Surrey since the business started in 1979 and during that time it has grown organically to become one of the largest independent nurseries in Surrey covering some 9 acres.
A major redevelopment of the whole site was undertaken in phases by lead contractor, Vear Construction. Our mission was to enable Longacres to provide a continuous service to customers during the works.
The solution
We supplied two gutter-linked temporary structures totalling an area of 1650sqm. These were used as a temporary retail store with integral café.

Structure one
The larger of the two temporary buildings was 85m in length and provided temporary retail space for the nursery. An internal wall separated the café area from the main shop.
Customers gained access via 5 double fully glazed shop front doors which provide the look, as well as the strength, of permanent retail doors. They also flooded the interior with light for a pleasant shopping experience.

Structure two
The second temporary structure, 25m in length, provided an indoor link to the nursery shop creating a seamless path around the differing sections of the nursery.
The temporary garden centre buildings were hired for a period of 40 weeks, until the new facilities were ready.
