Haskins Garden Centre in Snowhill required a high-quality temporary retail space to continue serving customers while their permanent facility underwent redevelopment. To ensure a seamless shopping experience, they turned to Spaciotempo for a state-of-the-art temporary store that would uphold the centre’s reputation for excellence.
Requirements
Haskins needed a temporary structure that could accommodate a full-scale retail space, including a plant area, garden furniture section, and a café. The solution had to offer a high level of comfort, insulation, and durability while maintaining an inviting atmosphere for customers.
The solution
Spaciotempo designed and installed a 1,575 sqm temporary building, ensuring that Haskins could continue serving customers without interruption. The structure comprises three gutter-linked units forming the main retail space, which includes a plant area, garden sundry products, furniture, clothing, and gifts. Additionally, the facility features a welcoming 180-seat café where visitors can relax and enjoy refreshments.

Thoughtful Design and Comfort Features
To enhance the shopping experience, Spaciotempo incorporated a thermo-insulated roof and gables for energy efficiency and climate control. The plant area, housed in two adjoining units, features perforated walls and a specially designed roof to allow natural light and airflow. The structure also includes three single doors, eight double-glazed windows, and a full heating system to ensure year-round comfort.

Seamless Transition During Redevelopment
The temporary store will remain in place for approximately a year while Haskins’ permanent garden centre is rebuilt. This solution enables uninterrupted business operations, ensuring continued revenue and customer satisfaction. The high-quality finish of the building has even led many visitors to mistake it for a permanent structure.
